Another very cold 7 degree morning in Melbourne - perfect for that morning Cardio or Weights session! No doubt alot of you have already trained for the day and are feeling totally invigorated and ready to roar for the day !!! Exciting news today with my business registration certificate arriving in the mail... so now I can get things off the ground at a quicker speed. Much detail to come so watch this space.
My day always starts with a Power walk and today was no different. Couldn't think of a better way to start my day quiet frankly and without it I feel tired, shitty and fat!
My comp prep for the All Females is now back in full swing and I am looking forward to the next 8 weeks. Due to keeping myself in okay form since my last comp things should be a little easier this time around, however it doesn't in any way mean I can slack off. With my weight sitting at 56.6kg I will look at competing around the 53 - 54kg mark. At the Melbourne Physique titles I stepped on stage at approx 9.2% body fat and weighed in at 54.2kg the morning of the comp.. so there is room to improve here.. and with 8 weeks, I can certainly make the most of this time and do what I have to do to get the results desired. Competing in Sports Model, is a hit and miss as you do not know if the judges are looking for uber skinny or girls with some additional meat.. All I do know is that the judges to date are going for a more rounded athletic look with muscle definition (so the girls don't look flat or basically just "skinny") - what a turn off that is anyway.. just a skinny chick with no lean muscle.... Yuk ! Its about time more females got into the gym and worked with weights .. without the excuse of "oh but I will get big, or when I do weights, I get big and look fat", no you don't... you are just eating too much at the same time and holding more fat on your muscles which in turn is covering them up, so yes you probably do look large and fat.. simple.. its impossible for chicks to get big....unless they are taking some sort steroid type drug.. the more weight training females do, the leaner you will look, the more lose your clothes will become, and the less cellulite prone you will be ! If of course you eat right at the same time.. and why wouldn't you anwyay - if you put so much hard work into your training.. why bother wasting it by eating junk and take away every day! I don't know about you, but I would rather not have to do extra training just so I can "burn" the extra calories I just ate.. at the end of the day doing extra exercise will hardly benefit. rather put you on an emotional rollercoaster ride where you will burn out and feel negative etc.. and then comes the snowball affect where you generally do it again then again then again.. how many times have we all said to ourselves after over eating.. ahh I won't do that again... and then before you kow it the next day or even sometimes the same day doing it again.. I reckon we would all be guilty of this behaviour at some stage in our life!
Its actually annoying when I here females say nah I don't want to do weight training because I get big etc or found it made me look big.. funny.. these are the girls that probably tried weight training for little more than a month.. but did nothing to change their diet in order to lose some fat and bring out their new sexy muscle definition underneath the blabber.. go figure ! yeah sure I would look fat too if I ate like crap all the time and had a shit load of fat covering my muscles... however I choose to eat well 90% of the time so I can stay fairly lean all year round - who wouldn;t want to look their best all year round anyway - once your in shape its very surprising how easy it is to stay that way.
Take the guess work out and just do the right thing by your precious self - Eat as clean as possible, train with weights 3 times a week, couple that with some cardio sessions and daily power walks and keep positive.. its a win win situation !
Have a sensational Tuesday and do something today that will benefit your health and fitness!
